Join and Create Your Harlem AIDS Blanket “Patch” Today

“…Blacks account for 48.8% and Latinos for 34.7% of all persons diagnosed with HIV/AIDS” – NYC HIV/AIDS Surveillance and Epidemiology Reports (April 2009)

The Harlem AIDS Blanket is an out-of-school-time art education project aimed at raising awareness and strengthening public support of HIV/AIDS in Harlem and beyond. The project is sponsored by the Institute for Urban and Minority Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, visual artist Danny Tisdale of Tisdale Studio, and a grant from AmeriCorps.

We invite you to join the project by creating a FREE “patch” of collage with Danny Tisdale towards the Harlem AIDS Blanket. Join us at the Gordon Campus of Teachers College, 2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd, at (between 125th and124h Street) 8th floor this Friday, March 26th between 12noon-2pm for open patch making studio time in the Conference Room.
